As per a current St John's Resident (En Y Yap), SJC does not have acces to the cedars application form and you do not have to put it in your choices of hall applications. You only need to fill in the SJC Open Apply Application.
Attributes Meaning Locally Based Hall means that it has considerably more local students than non-local students, and a lot of activities are catered primarily towards local students so knowing Cantonese would be highly benificial. However, they are perfectly nice to live in and some are really nice for sports as well if you are interested. It’s not like the locals will ignore or bully you, but in general you have to approach them first.
High GPA Required indicates that the hall cares more about it’s students GPAs when considering readmission more than other halls.
International indicates that English is the primary language used here and there are considerably more international students residing in these halls as compared to other halls.
Intense indicates that there are many compulsory hall activities and that the hall culture is rather intense.
Intense for locals indicates that the hall has a lot of compulsory hall activities for locals, but they are not compulsory for non-locals. Also, they have a strong culture for local students but not for non-locals.
Chill indicates the opposite of intense.
Single Rooms indicates that it the hall only has single rooms.
